To Walk Amongst Butterflies…
Following a lot of work this morning, come lunchtime I took to the porch, equipped with ipod, personal DAB, mini speakers, and a selection of literature… I planned sitting, sipping my lemonade and doing nothing else for at least the next hour except sitting, soaking up the glorious sun and doing a bit of light reading…
But twenty minutes in I got itchy feet, when a Butterfly floated by and inspired me to get up and hit the trail, and I did, but in a more casual manner than I usually would. Jeans and short sleeves, no kit except for my camera. My mission? Get some photographs of Butterflies. I would also have liked some Ladybirds, Bees and anything else of interest in the insect world. Unfortunately the Butterflies weren’t sitting still. The Bee pic came out blurry, it
was the awkward position I adopted to get the shot, all I got for my troubles was a poor pic and a knee full of mud, the grass was deceivingly very wet underfoot.
But it was very pleasant to walk out in the sunshine, amongst a carpet of dandelions and daisies and see Butterflies, Ladybirds and other insects. The Butterflies I saw: Small Tortoiseshell, Speckled Wood, and Orange tip
