I was planning to go out for a walk today, didn't know when, but I imagined some time in the afternoon. The task was to arrange the jobs 'I had to do' around the walk.
Those jobs had to be put on hold, because I was sidetracked wth an unexpected phone call from a debt recovery agency, giving me one hour to pay an overdue balance owed to their clients or they will inform their soliciters to go ahead with legal proceedings against me. The day had promised so many possibilities.
WHAT?! of course there was an error, the balance in question hadn't been paid because there never was one, an error the "clients" and I have (so I thought) resolved on many occasions - the occasions they keep asking for it and I have to keep reminding them that they've already realised their error and creditted my account with the ficticious amount, then they realise what has happened and the same routine is carried out, this has happened about 6 times for this same ficticious amount and now three of those times has been in response to the debt recovery agency threatening me. It's now April, I ended my association with the "Clients" in November 2005, "Am I owed compensation?" is the question I will be trying to Answer - Phone bills, time, psychological ...
All I know is that it totally ruined my day.
I did get out for a walk though, I didn't see the grey heron, sadly. I spotted a pair of greenfinches; overlooked by housing and the fact that the little critters would not keep still, prevented any pictoral evidence.
I took an easter wishes card out with me to post to my brother Martin who lives in London, but it was still in my pocket when I got home, I went into the shop for a stamp, managed to buy a couple of other items, but the stamp and the mailing of the card were jobs that will have to wait till tomorrow or Saturday.
A mature Dunnock I spotted out on my walk
The debt recovery agency are giving me or rather The "Clients" 7 days to get in touch with evidence of payment, or that my balance is at zero, and there is no money owing. At 4.30 which is when I went out, there was no phone call from the "Clients" to the debt recovery agency, they called to let me know, and about the 7 day cooling off period.
My walk became more about clearing my head of all this business than trying to remember to mail a card to my Brother. I'll be seeing him next week when he comes up to visit, or as I like to think "When he comes home to visit"
