CLOSE ENCOUNTERS

A miserable day, weather wise today. Gray skies and not much else. As for me, I stayed home and tried to take things a little easy, but it's not as easy to relax as you think.
I contacted my landlord to sort out a leaky pipe in my boiler, they will get back to me. I rang and paid my cable and phone bills, I will go out later in the week to pay my water bill and my energy bill. yes that's correct - a right boring day.

The afternoon soon became evening....

Its 7.45pm. I could be watching Barcalona v Chelsea, anyone who's into soccer understands the the size of this game, great world players pitting their wits against each other, and that's what it is. A rare chance to see these Goliaths of the beautiful game. Unfortubatly it was unwatchable, as there was audio interference from some sort of gossip programme - you know, dumbed down tv for nosey-parkers, or as I like to call them 'student stalkers' Yes, there was some annoying backround noise, I could make out words like - "controversy!", "He said this" and "He said that". I could have turned the sound down,
but then, isn't that a sign of acceptance at some level?

I tried to catch up on some work, and then settled down to watch 'How To Watch Wildlife with Bill Oddie' that I had recorded earlier. This episode saw Bill getting all nostalic about past shows, sorry, that's a little vague and unfair, he was reminiscing about some great wildlife moments in his tv career. The Starlings that met up in their thousands on the banks of the river Seven in gloustershire was breathtaking, there must have been up to half a million of these birds. The whole scene was eerie but not in a bad way. N
ot at first but in the end the atmosphere was reminicant of when Richard Dryfuss met the Aliens in 'Close Encounters Of The Third Kind' when the ship communicated by sound. I'm not saying the Starlings were trying to communicate with bill Oddie, I think that would only work in a 'Goodies' sketch. "Ecky-Thump!"
