RICKY GERVAIS

Not the most thrilling of days, saw the folks, went to the supermarket for a 'big shop', made some phone calls, got threatened by a debt agency, spent more time on the phone correcting the error that initiated the threat, Listened to the 12th and final Ricky Gervais podcast, great news though, they are back next week with more, and YES! you guessed it, we have to pay for the episodes from now on. like we don't already pay - broadband service? They thanked us 'the Listener' for our support, sounds as if they were that thankful they are charging us for it now. "We HAVE given you twelve for free". I'm sure that was said with tongue in cheek, but - WUPEE, THANKS RICKY, YOU'RE SO GENEROUS! but also said a little defensively, so they must know that it is wrong. I'm sure because they are stars we have to pay to listen to them. But that is not in my opinion what the podasphere represents, I suppose getting some sponsorship is ok, but don't make the people who made you pay, it's not a gig that we are physically going to for a night out, that we willingly pay for , podcasting is a culture of community - not for sale at any price. But I'm sure it is, will Ricky keep his adverts for other tv shows on the new episodes? 'Monkey News' has apparantly ended, but I'm sure people will still tune in to hear other very funny material, and don't worry if you can't find them Ricky will point you in the right direction - itunes....hmme....? The weather here has not been too bad recently,sunny & mild in the main over the past few weeks, out of the blue today though it started hailstoning, you know - like it does.
