DIVING

An epidemic is sweeping the soccer world - DIVING!
No, not the players going down - the commentators and x pro's/co-commentators irrisponsible false accusations of cheating by going down without in their view reason ("Diving") towards the players. What is the x-pro's motivation for these slanderous accusations, self-rightousness, envy, or an agenda? Whatever their reason, in my opinion as an x-player and avid viewer of the beautiful game, and having analysed the mental and physical aspects of the game over the years since I stopped playing, yes I've seen the game move on, and yes I've witnessed the odd dive but more as a 'tongue in cheek' adddition to an obvious mistimed challenge, clumsy or otherwise. but across the board there is no "cheating" going on to the scale the tabloids and so called "x-pro's" would have you believe, there's no "simulation",
there's no "Theatrics". For example - the Rivaldo hands to the face was simply a gesture at how dangerous the kick of the ball aimed at him was, it was a dead ball, and fired with fierceness and red-mist intent to cause damage, not a premeditated plot, are you telling me that Rivaldo has got a mind that can think that fast? At least Rivaldo got in the way of what could have been even more serious, as there were seats filled with families positioned behind him. That was just an example of how people only see one side to a situation when there is clearly more than one. Another example was Ashley Cole - he was only a couple of months into his Arsenal first team career, young, exited and rareing to go, there was an accidental collision, a boot was kicked very hard into his foot in mid-air, it's gonna' sting right? of course it is, for goodness sake, so the natural response would be to grimise and hop around on one foot with the injured foot hanging in mid-air and nothing else on your mind but hoping the pain goes and hoping that you can play again today and tommorow, can't see anything wrong with that , but synics and irrisponsible people in a position of power, accused him of cheating, so now you have got a future England star labelled a cheat for the next twenty five years of his career, these accusations went out live across sattalite television around the world and were made by a studio guest from the footballing world. Very irrisponsible, Unless you have one hundred percent proof that the soccer player has taken a "Dive" then I think it is a little unfair to label them a cheat on hearsay, and the repercusions this could have on him and his career - the Messi incident is not the most perfect example, but the lad is only 18 and is getting picked on, non stop, and you know what, IT WAS A SENDING OFF ANYWAY - INTENT! Messi looked up to see if the game had stopped, or was still playing around, the rolling was just I suppose over exitement, and perhaps a bad judgement on his behalf, but he certainly wasn't trying to get the offfender sent off, as certain people commentating were screaming about without taking into account the points I have raised. Let me finish by highlighting that these are just a few examples, there are x-pro's out there that even have the cheek to state "He's known for it" yes - you made him know for it, the first time you falsely accused him of it. These irrisponsible comments are appearing on every telivised game, usually the accuser is just jumping on the bandwagon. It ruins the viewing experience of a football match.
