Spotted a Bullfinch in the courtyard today. It's the first time I've ever seen one out there, so it was quite a treat, especially as there is no man-made food enticement, I mean 'a bird table'! Nothing wrong with that, if I was wielding any sort of power around these parts then maybe I'd have feeders hanging, and tables a plenty, but I don't, so I've been left to watching these birds come here naturally, and it's a great experience, you don't get as many or as often; not that birds coming to a bird-table or feeder isn't natural, an animal in need of nourishment finds food, no matter how the food got there.
Managed to get a couple of snaps, but my hands were shaky in anticipation of it's rapid disappearance as soon as I pushed the button, to take the pic. Hopefully I can get them next time, But alas, I fear that their visit was a one-off!
Excuse, the shoddy pics, hopefully they will be back?! Yes, "they", thinking back, there was, I'm sure, a pair, they were spooked by the Territorial behaviour of a blackbird, and scarpered in different directions, when escaping the threat.
