I managed to get out for a walk, No hike, just a short meander along the suburban and rural boundaries, mainly to get my fitness levels up again. I didn't wish to overdo it. Going into a lengthy trek cold has given me problems recently, hence my eagerness to resist the possibility of early migrants sightings further into the countryside and shorten the trip.
Unfortunately I didn't get any pics or movies today, but I was hardly in a position to, surrounded by suburban eyes.
I almost got mauled by 2 pit-bull terriers within the space of 10 minutes, as I was trying to take solace at my designated resting and wildlife vantage point, which is a stile, tucked behind some hedgerows, there's only one house that can see me from there. There was a pair of birds, that I just missed out on getting footage of that were really close, that's when one of the pit-bulls and owner decided to make an appearance; schools here get out early on a Friday apparently, as I've just found out, I'd timed my walk to avoid awkward clashes with rowdy school children, I hadn't calculated for the schools getting out early. I'll try and get out over the weekend.
There will be a better class of media here hopefully soon, so keep reading. Once I get my groove back, things will pick up, and that includes the podcast of which I'm currently working on a new intro. Keep in touch and tell me your wildlife experiences or any issues you want to discuss with acorn radio. I will read out your written mail or play your voice mail in the next show with your permission, obviously.
