Halloween
I think I've just about recovered from Halloween. I hope you enjoyed show 10 - the Halloween Special. If you haven't listened to it yet then it is available on yesterday's post.
blogging
It seems like a lifetime since I sat down and blogged, without just writing show notes, I'd forgotton how difficult writing can be, structure and design of an article can be so time consuming, when all you want to do is tell your story. a bit like putting a podcast together I suppose.
Strange Phenomena
Yesterday's show was possibly the shortest show (proper) I've ever done. That was due to running out of time to tell a few true local ghost stories I had researched. I really wanted to bring them to last night's show too. Maybe next year's show. I was going to do a second part to show ten today especially for those tales. But today isn't halloween, and it would be out of place.
If Acorn Radio was a "Strange Phenomena" blog and podcast then I'd possibly be bringing eerie content weekly or even daily. Maybe it's something Acorn Radio should think about bringing to the table and add another show or segment to the broadcast.
Birthday Celebrations
It was my birthday at the end of October, I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved in making the day very special for me.
I was overwhelmed with gratitude when I saw the decorations, of course I tried to play it cool, which only masked how grateful I really felt. Again thank-you. You know who you are, I know you subscribe to the show, so I know you'll be reading this post.
Hawk
When I was out for lunch on Sunday, on my birthday, I spotted a Sparrowhawk (bird of prey) sitting on a fence in the gardens. I managed to whip my camera out quick, but in the scramble to snap it before it vacated the area, and was out of sight, my hands were slightly shakey so the pics I took were not too hot. Once the excitement died down I sat and finished the rest of my meal and continued on with my birthday celebrations.
Hibernation
I managed to see the silouette of a magpie at the top of the trees in the woods over the road from where I live, nothing exiting about that, and you're right it isn't, but The fact that I could see it is a sign that the tops of the trees have lost their leaves, I only really noticed today - the first of November; we are well and truly in the middle of autumn heading speedily to winter - well obviously. shorter days etc... but to see that sight again - spiney trees - NO!!! Roll-on Spring! Hibernation never sounded so attractive before. Speaking of which, did you know that Squirells do not hibernate, it's just a myth.
