PARKLIFE

PARKLIFE

Another gorgeous day, a burning hot sun and a cool breeze...

I thought I'd go out on-location today. I wasn't that happy with the media from my last visit to my local park, so I thought I'd try
and get better quality this time. The emphesis was clearly on getting out, getting some fresh-air and excercise, but it doasn't hurt (too much) to be a little more ambitious. Even though I'm not on a country-side trek, I can still make the day out "active".

After my mini safari through the bush phase of the park experience, I headed for home. I rested up for a while, before making my way over to the local supermarket to top up for the weekend.

I saw a bit of wildlife today on my visit to the park, a bird I couldn't quite i.d, judging from the photo I took, which was shocking that I got anything within the frame, as the pair of birds were darting about all over, stopping for a millisecond in the trees, plus the blinding sun and the heat. A Warbler of somekind, maybe a Garden Warbler?
I spotted other wil
dlife such as Moorhens, mallards and other types of waterbird. Didn't see any otters though, very difficult to spot, if I set up some kind of otter-watch then maybe?
I saw as usual; Squi
rells, not as easy to keep an eye on as you may think, a fleeting glance and they are gone, I suppose it depends on where you see them, there are, I'm sure, parks where they are use to human visiters, and therefore tamer to be observed, but not in the thick bush of my local patch. The good vantage point at the opening of the bush, as I mentioned in a prior post does meet the peaks of the trees, and would be a good place, if you have the time to stay a while to study Squirell behaviour, but then...?

PODCAST
You may, or may not have noticed a few changes to the site. The change of name has come about to signify the publishing of our first podcast. The original name 'skysnews' represented a starting point. The name 'Acorn Radio' represents a move to the next level. So where is the first Acorn Radio podcast? A few technichal problems there I'm afraid, the sight-seeing tour was a wash-out. I decided to ditch it. After several hours on the cutting room floor, it soon became apparent that no matter how hard I tried, this piece of audio was just not audible. But I'll still try to put the first show out soon.
