Before heading out today, (a glorious day, seemed mild enough, and remember here I said 'seemed') I thought I'd better had clean my walking boots, just as I was drying them off, before heading for the shower, and to get ready, making sure I had the essentials - mobile phone, gum, tissues, money, camera, charged up batteries, I turned to the window and the weather had turned from a beautiful spring day into a foul winter one, with flurries of snow raining down and bringing a very strong breeze with it. I still got ready as if going out though, hoping the lousy weather would change back again. It did, but I had underestimated the coldness of the breeze, my face was frozen, I was out in open countyside, with no escape from its icy bite.
I managed to get out and get some photos. I tried to stand and photo some songbirds, but the cold made it uncomfortable to concentrate. The sun was out most of the time but the climate was still freezing.
Near to where I walk is a housing development, the site use to be a playing field surrounded by wood and dense hedgerows full of birdlife, and other wildlife. The countryside seems to be shrinking.
